Description
Registered by Alvis Car Company in 1930; original Coventry number plate and full ownership history. Full write up in Register Bulletin 1997 and correctly recorded in Hull and Johnson / The Vintage Alvis.
High quality rebuild some 50 years ago by R Buttle (Register Member number 6) with light alloy coachwork by Wilkinson of Derby over highly detailed ash frame; carefully maintained ever since and in extremely good condition today. Recent new paintwork in deep maroon with polished alloy bonnet and black wings, all in superb condition. TJ engine, honeycomb nickel-era radiator and brightwork also all in excellent condition, Alvis close ratio gearbox and Register steering arm. A really strong long-distance vintage sports car with some sensible (easily reversible) amendments to suit modern touring; in the last two years we have successfully completed tours and rallies with the VSCC and UVCC in Ireland, Wales and England. Never trailered. Goes like a rocket and looks fabulous. Reluctantly for sale to fund major unexpected house repair.
