Description
Rare example of a low mileage classic Austin Metro 1. 3L from the pre-Rover days in 1986 running well and in fair-good condition, with original interior.
It's roadworthy with MoT valid until 27th July 2025 with advisories regarding corrosion, but the rusted sills were welded several years ago and it now gets through the MoT without further work needed.
It's had very little use in the last 23 years and has been parked in a garage in all the time we've owned it (29 years). In 1995-2001 it was used primarily for short trips around town under ownership of the current lady owner. For a period of time in the early 1990s it had a life as a learner car but the dual controls were removed and it's now completely standard. It's had 2 previous owners.
Recent work includes a new carburettor in October 2024. Manual choke is present and needed when starting the vehicle. It can apparently run on high-octane unleaded petrol based on advice from the garage, but we would recommend to continue using lead-replacement additive.
Great runner and a rare classic - feel free to visit for a test drive. Servicing history and original manual is included. Spare wheel and tools also included.
