In 1958, the alliance between Renault and Alfa Romeo was signed for the production of the Dauphine in the Portello plant under the Biscione marque. The car we are presenting here is one of the 6500 cars produced in 1959, exactly on 17 October 1959, as per the production records at the Alfa Romeo Documentation Centre, with sale on 24 October and delivery of original BS plates and warranty from 26 October 1959. The car was bought by a 37-year-old woman who always used it only in the city and always parked in the garage. The car comes with: purchase contract and invoice, warranty and service booklet, car brochure, number plates and booklet updated in 1971 due to change of residence. In the second half of the 1970s, it was taken back by our then Renault dealer in exchange for a new R5. Since then it remained in the dealership until 2016, when we were invited to sell it to an enthusiast from Brescia, who ran a petrol station. He applied for the ASI and CRS certificate. Having sold the petrol station and not knowing where to keep it, he offered to buy it again. We proceeded to request the Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin, which confirmed that the car was a matching number and colour. In addition, we proceeded with a maxi-cleaning (with relative documentation), to put it in excellent working order. Today, we can certify a car that allows you to travel with a foot barely on it at 90 km/ h, with a stable and straight steering wheel, with correct braking, with a gearbox with no play and with all the instrumentation and services systems working. As the advertisement of the time said: "You drive it with one finger, you control it with one foot!" A nice, honest car that not only transports you with ease but, with a 'powerful' time machine, takes you back to the fabulous 1960s with a page of history, documented not easily retrieved. A car that, like all things, has to please, and if it pleases, can give much satisfaction to the detail-oriented enthusiast.
