Description
The Mini Moke is a cult vehicle with a unique character.
I Purchased this Mini Moke early in 1990, In those days cars were advertised in the Sunday Times car section. The last number of cars were sold this way when the British Leyland motor factory in Portugal was shut down I Purchased this car from a motor dealer who knew of this and got in quickly. I purchased the Mini Moke from his home 24/ 05/ 1990, and was so happy as I wanted to send it to my new house in Spain, This is where the Mini Moke still lives today.
This Mini Moke is true to the original design, having never been restored. The pressed steel unitary construction is what makes the Mini Moke unique, tubular bumpers were standard and the detachable, hinged bonnet and fold-down windscreen are a great Moke feature, along with the folding fabric-covered roof.
Lucas headlamps with chromed bezels and the Moke Front grill look good going down the road, The sparse, exposed feel while driving around is fun and the best way to describe a Moke interior is "Simplicity" all in all this treats the driver to controls familiar to most Mini owners, with fresh air aplenty!
All the instruments, switches and warning lights function.
External bonnet catches, louvred cooling panel, folding removable front screen, tubular front and rear bumpers, rear-mounted spare wheel, folding soft top—factory Options: Sump protector, rear grab handles, passenger seat, rear seats.
I drove the car to Spain the following month and all that was required was Time, as is no fun driving fast.
The Car Is in Vera Almeria, I use the car it for a few weeks each year in the summer. I drove this Mini Moke to Mojacar In Almeria in 1990, it has always lived in a proper brick/ block-built garage, We all enjoyed the fun time we had and all my Daughters have grown up knowing and looking forward to each summer driving to the beech during holiday times.
The Moke has a Mot and basic service (ITV Spanish Equivalent) each year even though it might only do 30/ 100 miles. In Spain road tax is only £36. 00 per year and insurance is cheap too,
I have a new hood that I purchased about 3 years ago and have a lot of old and new spares (I don't through anything away) I even have the old original hood and side screens.
