Avus Blue, 6 speed, EDC dampers (rebuilt professionally c. 2000miles ago), strong engine and drivetrain maintained by legendary expert David Olias. Restored front wings by approved BMW body shop, everything works as it should. Staggered M Parallel 18” refurbished original wheels. One of only 176 built RHD 3. 8 6 speed cars, originally owned by BMW, it’s believed the 1st private owner did most miles commuting Scotland to London. Current owner since 2013. MOT until May 2025 . A fine example with a very special documented early history.
The car has had many (documented) £000, s spent to restore and maintain its current condition. It’s occasionally used, by a caring enthusiast.
Some minor works could further improve this rare example : trim clips, stone chip touch-up, slightly sagging headlining and cleaning/ painting the front springs. Overall, the car is in great useable condition and is certainly an appreciating classic, being sold under market value for a fellow enthusiast to cherish. This was the M5 3. 8 6 speed Press Car, magazine & book features abound (original magazines and book included in sale); legendary journalists such as Steve Sutcliffe pictured at the wheel. The original (suitably worn) n/ s front wheel & tyre is in the spare wheel well. The car is totally original with radio cassette, factory exhaust and M Parallel restored wheels (sitting on barely used Toyo R888r tyres). A unique classic only being sold due to house move.
