Description
1973 Range Rover Series 1 - Suffix B.
Manufactured in February 1973, the vehicle was destined for the warm climates of Australia, where it resided in Queensland. Factory stamps and Solihull plates identify the vehicle and conform correctly to its Heritage Certificate, confirming the specification and vibrant Tuscan Blue colour.
This Suffix B was subject to a body-off photographic restoration, blasted and recoated chassis, and a fully trimmed interior in the correct Palomino upholstery, with new headlining and carpets throughout.
The vehicle does retain a degree of originality that gently settles the restoration. The dashboard, binnacle, switches, steering wheel and headrests are all factory original and truly provide a tone and patina to the cabin. Additional features include fully operational air-conditioning, new Rostyle wheels with Dunlop SP tyres and its original jacking equipment and tools.
Mechanically, the 3. 5-litre Rover V8 was tested and found to have good compression, so was overhauled with new seals, a replacement water pump, fresh spark plugs and ignition leads, new belts, and core plugs, whilst the carburettors were fully rebuilt. Its gearbox was in good order, and thus was resealed and reinstalled. Since the overhaul, the car has covered just 1500 miles and is supplied with recent oil service and a new MOT Certificate. Since it's return to the UK, the car has formed part of a private Collection, with written confirmation to the vendor by the car’s second owner of its history and is offered to the market with its supporting file, the aforementioned Heritage Certificate and photographic restoration images.
Presented in superb condition throughout following a comprehensive restoration, this charming early Range Rover had covered some 44, 000 miles.
The vehicle is professionally stored and used sparingly during the summer months. For full details and many more images please contact.
