Description
1973 Fiat Dino 2400 Coupe. One of the last to leave the Ferrari Maranello production line, where it was built alongside and shared the same engine as the 246 GT. UK registered, imported from Tuscany in 2009. Matching numbers engine and transmission, wearing an old repaint in its original “Rosso Ossido,” which, depending on the light, can change from red to brown. Original black and red interior, new carpets.
Documented work has been carried out within the last 12 months as follows:
• Replacement of the troublesome ignition points/ centrifugal advance with an MSD 6AL-2 fully programmable ignition system. Mounting hardware is included to allow this to be fitted into an original Magneti Marelli AEC-103A ignition box to provide a “stock look”. Ignition advance set to 30 degrees BTDC, rev limiter at 7700rpm.
• MSD BLASTER High vibration coil
• Timing chain adjustment
• Rebuilt Weber DCNF 40 carbs. Carb. Bodies electronically cleaned, new o-rings, gaskets, float levels set, balanced and tuned. All jets returned to factory specification. New fuel lines.

BODY/ CHASSIS
Sills, floors, jacking points, arches, and window frames are all solid, with no rust. Outer and inner sills are perfect suggesting that they have been replaced at some point. There is a rust bubble on the rear trunk lid. There is a Small 1cm rust bubble on the leading edge of the engine cover.
ELECTRICAL
The driver's electric window is inoperable. Intermittent radio operation suggests a loose connection. Everything else functions as it should.
INTERIOR
Perfect original state. No damage nor signs of wear. All original materials except new red carpet mats.
SUSPENSION/ STEERING
The factory steering box has 2-3cm of play at the centre position. Everything else functions as it should without any clunking or crashing.
Selling due to lack of space. I am forced to store the car at my daughter's house and I have a further 2 classic cars which are taking up a lot of my time. Available for a test drive, weather permitting. Since installing the MSD the Dino seems to have the power that it probably didn't even have when new and it provides an absolutely intoxicating driving experience and pulls hard right up to the red line.
To bring this car to the next level, I would suggest dealing with the small rust patches, refurbishing the wheels, tending to the stereo and driver's window and rebuilding the steering box.
I am free to answer any questions you may have. The unique colour will separate this Dino from the others, not that there are many, and the MSD ignition will certainly provide trouble-free ownership, low maintenance and power that I don't believe is available with the stock ignition system.
