Description
3 owners from new 55000
Mot and Tax Free.
Used on a farm for 45 years, classed as a commercial vehicle. (was stored in a Dry Barn in Gloucester since 1988) Bought as a Barn find in 09. 08. 2013 with 53000 miles on clock.
Nelly has been predominantly used for going to local car shows and has been reliable in doing. She runs very well and drives as you would expect a new 1960s mini to drive.
The car was originally fitted with a 850 and has since beenreplaced with 998 Engine. (53000 on old engine 850, current mileage is 56, 600) The original engine will be included in the sale.
Restored by a retired mechanic between August 2013 and March 2017.
We bought Nelly in March 2017 and have not had to do much work apart from annual services.
Has been restored to an excellent standard with a very comprehensive file detailing the process including the original logbook.
Nelly will come with the original White Fibre glass cover along with a tilt cover frame and canvas. Both can be removed and be used as an open pickup.
Nelly was originally Smoke Grey and has been resprayed Blue.(Ford Gentian Blue Cellulose Paint)
You can see Nelly is a very early mini pickup and one of the features of this is the one-piece full width bumper which is what is still fitted to Nelly and replacements are very rare. After October 1969 a quarter bumper was fitted on all vans and pickups.
Nelly is currently fitted with a chrome front grill however the commercial minis had a stamped metal slot for airflow rather than the fitted chrome grill.
A commercial grill will be included in the sale along with a replacement Morris bonnet badge. I fell in love with this cute mini pick up I had never seen one before . They are so rare and you always get a smile or laugh from passing motorists .
