Here for sale is my Citroen Xantia Athena, a rare special edition similar to a VSX model (actually badged as VSX, with the VSX hydroactive suspension).
It has a full leather interior in great condition, that is very comfy and has minimal wear. It is a 2ltr petrol with a smooth automatic gearbox that all works as it should. The hydropneumatics suspension has been previously overhauled by Pleiades, a Citroen specialist and, as result, works well on all settings and provides the smooth ride you’d expect. The hydroactive switch works too, improving body roll and giving a good ride or twisty roads.
The current mileage is just under 66k miles. I’ve just serviced the car oil, filter, air filter, wipers etc all new. The car is on 4 new tyres fitted in June, with only a few hundred miles covered since. The cambelt in 2020 at 62k miles and there are also recent receipts for other service items including auxiliary belt, sparkplugs, HT leads, coolant, thermostat etc. The car currently drives without obvious fault or issue, although any inspection is welcome and I would advise you to judge for yourself where possible.
The vehicle is very original, expect that the original radio stopped working, and has been replaced with a modern unit that supports Android and Apple Carplay etc. The original unit, and another from another car is included if you want to put it back to stock.
The known faults are that the sunroof only works on tilt and the aircon does not blow cold, may need re-gassing.
The is currently used occasionally on the road and is MOT’d to June 2025 and ready to drive away.
I only acquired this car relatively recently, and was considering using it as a retro daily, but having had the change to buy another car, this is no longer right for me and I find myself with too many cars, and this one is not getting the time or use it deserves, so I’m reluctantly offering it for sale.
According to the ‘How Many Left’ website, it is the only one left in the UK, either on the road or SORN, so it could be a potentially appreciating asset for somebody.
