Description
I have reluctantly decided to sell my lovely 1979 Westfalia VW Campervan (known as Connie the Camper). Connie was fully restored a few years ago and has been well maintained since with lots of improvements. There’s still a few minor improvements that can be made, so she is not top price, but she is a very good and honest van.
Things that have been carried out over the last few years include;
• New reconditioned big bore 1641cc engine (less than 1, 000 miles)
• New reconditioned gearbox (less than 1, 000 miles)
• Twin carbs
• Recent exhaust system including 4 into 1 manifold
• Brake overhaul
• New door skins (both front doors)
An original RHD van, Connie seats 5 and sleeps 4, has a sink with pumped water, 2-way fridge, gas hob and grill (2 bottles supplied), leisure battery and mains hookup for 240v. Wood rim steering wheel, cd/ radio/ mp3 player, supports IOS and Android mobile phones.
Table, buddy seat storage (no toilet in the storage box) with extra removable buddy seat enabling four to sit at the dining table in the van. Buspod cabby for extra storage and drinks holders.
Very big history file. Although no longer required, Connie does have a current MOT.
Note that new whitewalls will be fitted before sale.
Also included is a sun canopy awning and breathable outdoor van cover.
Would consider PX with a nice Triumph TR6 with cash either way or WHY. The drivetrain upgrade means that Connie drives really well in modern traffic. The big bore 1641cc engine gives a 30% bhp increase alone, adding the 4 branch manifold and twin carbs increases that even more. Connie looks great and is fun to drive and stay in. Playing on the green theme Connie even has green led lights inside that make her look very cool. You will not be disappointed.
