Very early 1963 Morris 1100 presented in Fiesta Yellow with a Porcelain Green interior.
The real enthusiast will know that these early cars are rare - they have some subtle differences including the bent gear stick and the different dash finish. Fiesta yellow was a launch colour which was only available for the first 12 months of production and it sets the lines of the early cars off really well and is complimented by the vivid pale green interior - in my opinion the best colour combination on the Morris 1100.
This car was supplied to its's original owners in June 1963 by dealer Stewart and Ardern of Croydon. Those owners kept the car until 2019 when it was bought by an enthusiast and sympathetically restored to retain as much originality as it possibly could. I purchased the car in 2023 and owing to a change in my personal circumstances I am now seeking a new home for her.
The car wears most of its original paint and shows very little evidence of corrosion anywhere suggesting that she has indeed been garaged all of her life. She is as supplied with no seatbelts or wing mirrors! The interior is very good condition (I have replaced the seat base cover of the drivers seat as the original was damaged but the original is supplied with the car). At some point the carpet has been colour restored and while it looks okay I would be looking at replacing the carpet if I was to keep the car.
The second owner replaced the engine with a replacement gold seal engine and rebuilt the gearbox. I have owned several ADO16's over the years and by far this drives the best. It is incredibly nippy; starts every time and doesn't blow any smoke. The milometer is reading 2500ish meaning it has covered 102500 miles appx which is backed up by the MOT history on line for the original owners who kept the car on the road until 2016.
The car was on display at the National Classic car show earlier this month and drew an awful lot of interest.
