Description
BSA A7 Shooting Star. 1961. An older restoration. Bike is not concours but in very nice presentable condition. Some sensible mods have been made over the years - TLS front brake which is set up properly and works really well. Goldie clocks have been fitted. Rear Girling shocks are nearly new. New primary chain last year. New Amal Concentric Carb fitted this year. I’ve not cut corners in making sure it runs properly and is reliable.
Starts easily, runs nicely and has a very good oil return to the oil tank. The bike has been used regularly and it’s ready for a new owner to ride and enjoy straightaway. There is nothing I am aware of that needs sorting, soon will need replacing or not working properly! Some spares and bits included.
V5 in my name, a bit of history from my ownership with invoices, proof it came from the NMCM, workshop manuals/ parts list/ haynes book. I purchased the bike from the national motorcycle museum as an approved restoration. It could be cosmetically improved (paint) if you were a stickler for originality and returned to the original spec, but the few mods work really well.
The bike is an easy to live with classic.
So if it’s so great why am I selling it? Basically making space for a project and have gone in a slight different direction with my classic bike interest.
Happy to share a walk around video/ startup if you are too far to easily come and view.
