Early car - 1970 LHD ( HLS30 1000X - 09/ 70……… if you subscribe to the Series 1 thing! ) first registered in the UK in July 1988.
It was originally ( and still is) the white paint / blue interior combo - not very common.
HPI’d when I bought it – I’m the 3rd registered UK owner .
Numbers matching - with the original engine and 4 speed box
I bought it in 2005 ( Always garaged and never driven in the rain - offroad every winter ) and have loved every minute of owning it – never let me down .
It currently runs and starts fine although i havent been far in it for the last few years - it has just been put back on the road - other projects took priority.
Just been refreshing the brakes ( new hoses , front calipers , etc ) which is now complete - new ball joints , at same time .
Its solid – had a few small minor welds in the past ( chassis) but very good/ clean underneath .
It has very little rust compared to some of the cars you will see for sale - just needs tidying up .
Some work in the past has been done by the z farm and others - and i have all those receipts.
Usual places that rot on z's are good:
Battery tray and radiator panel are original and very good.
Sills are great .
Door bottoms and floors great
Few tiny bits of surface bubbling here and there - but generally very good .
The wheels are pretty much immaculate with a few thousand miles max on them and the tyres .
It had a paint job just before I bought it – which was 'average' . One wing has a bit of microblistering – present a little on the pillar and bonnet too. This appeared after stored the car under a cover after I first got it – and it hasn’t really worsened in the last 10 years.
I’ve basically tried to keep it running and address the issues as they arise- rather than restore.

Rear wheel bearings , fan belt , water pump , brake shoes ( 10 )
Rear struts stipped , new rear wheel bearings , new brake cylinder , new handbrake cable , front caliper , track rod ends , battery clamp, brake light switch , uk spec headlight bowls ( all by ZFarm- 2013 )

Windscreen wiper motor rewind / rebuild , new wipers ( 18 )

New ball joints, sway bar link, brake lines, front calipers (24)
As above - the front suspension was recently partially stripped to replace ball joints and brake calipers - a front wheel bearing was done at the same time after a brake was binding and it overheated - so the bearing has been done precautionary .
This covers a fair length of time but its probably done less than 5000 miles in that period .
Interior is mostly original ( Blue vinyl – glorious ) and needs tidying but presentable .
Dash is cracked from california sunshine ( dashcap in spares) .
Seats are not original I don’t think or the covering isnt anyway which is a black piped vinyl .
Carpets are a bit faded as are door cards ( also blue ) .
Original steering wheel and instruments .
No working radio .
Roof panel great .
Good selection spares come with it- I need to add up and list fully
It includes a full barely run rebuilt engine . Various new badges ( new in box ) , pedal rubbers, fuel sender , ball joints ( now on car ) , ignition parts , speedo cable , dash cap , fuel sender , brake pads, fuel rail , thermostat, full brand new poly bushing set , brand new set of springs and shocks, spare fans , etc. etc - need digging out and listing . Price includes all those spares which must be easily worth £2-3k+
I bought the spare engine on a bit of a whim really - was just a bargain . It was rebuilt by Fourways a couple of years before i got it– complete with round top SU carbs - but its never been ran since i bought it.
Its just a solid , tidy car ready to be driven and improved.

Car is near Northallerton - North Yorkshire . Ive owned this car for a few years and change my mind about selling it every time i list it . Decent , honest, solid z's are hard to come by and this car has lots of original features and hasnt been too messed with
