I have owned my JDM GC8 Subaru Impreza Version 5 STi since November 2006.
The car was purchased as a brand new JDM import from David Hendry Cars (DHC) in 1999.
I then purchased it from the same person in 2006.
He moved ownership from himself to his business so it shows that I am the 3rd owner when really it’s only been in the hands of one other person.
It’s only covered a genuine documented 32, 000 miles & the 86F Cool Grey paintwork is immaculate. The only non-original paint is the front bumper/ splitter and roof as I had the roof professionally resprayed as it had been poorly painted by DHC prior to delivery.
DHC also removed the original red/ clear STi rear taillights to make it fully UK road legal so I fitted a brand new set of STi taillights.
In 2022 the smallest road legal LED fog light was mounted on a custom made bracket & wired to a Genuine Subaru fog light switch.
It’s had a full under body restoration in January 2022 which was carried out by David Franklin of Oakley Garage who was a Subaru Master Technician & Subaru main dealership owner!
During this many new parts were fitted including:
4 brand new Genuine Subaru red STi shocks.
New Subaru front & 2-pot rear red callipers.
Brembo pads & discs, brand new Genuine Subaru front and rear bumper mounts.
New front driveshafts as these were slightly noisy.
Brand new 18” Revolution Millenium alloy wheels with custom STi badges.
Brand new Toyo 215/ 35/ 18 tyres, black nuts and black locking nuts.
Various Superpro polyurethane bushes.
Various parts shot blasted & powder coated satin black.
The wheel hubs were painstakingly stripped and painted.
Brand new Genuine Subaru coolant tank.
The Eibach/ P1 red springs where cleaned up and re-fitted as were still in fantastic condition.
The underside was totally solid so was cleaned up and 15 cans of the amazing BuzzWeld underseal were applied.
The alloys arms were stripped & painted silver.
The exhaust was cleaned.
The bumper vents were painted black & crystal side lights, crystal indicators & crystal side repeaters fitted for a more modern look (the original lights will be supplied & a brand new set of orange bumper vents).
The headlights have also been PPF’d.
The rear wheel arches had a tiny amount of surface rust so these were treated & blown in to preserve the original panels & paintwork.
I had the front bumper, Genuine fog light covers & Genuine Version 6 front lip spoiler painted at the same time.
The car had a Stage 1 machine polish and was ceramic coated in June 2023 this included the alloy wheels & shock absorbers.
I had Roger Clark Motorsport aluminium pulleys fitted as the genuine Bakelite ones can crack (these are included & are immaculate!)
The tracking was also done at the same time.
The smaller aftermarket MOMO steering wheel is included as well as the original factory fitted MOMO airbag wheel which is totally immaculate.
The original STi alcantara front seats, rear seats, door cards, carpets, gear knob & alloy STi pedals are immaculate.
The original Subaru AddZest radio is present, CD player & tape deck work as does the electric aerial however the radio no longer picks up any stations.
Security wise it has a Thatcham approved Autowatch alarm & immobiliser fitted.
The alarm was fitted in 2018 as the original one stopped working.
The original catalytic down pipe was replaced with a stainless steel 100 cell down pipe (the original item will be included in the sale), it then has a stainless steel centre pipe and a quiet, factory look Milltek stainless steel rear silencer.
(the original back box can be included if required).
The original STi mudflaps were quite scruffy so I had these remade using Kaylan material and exact match STi graphics. The original brackets were powder coated & new black stainless steel fittings were used.
The slightly larger diameter rear Whiteline ARB was powder coated black along with the Whiteline uprated ARB brackets.
The list of new parts fitted during it’s underbody restoration is too long to list in full but no expense has been spared!
It gets driven around 40 miles a year & has not been driven in the wet since June 2023!
The paintwork is genuine (apart from the areas mentioned) it’s totally honest and the car has been driven so does have the odd minor stone chip however it’s almost completely dent free (the genuine panels are paper thin so dent very easily!)
There is no rust on the bodywork and the underside is completely sound, original with zero welding or crash repair.
The pink STI ‘I’ badge is genuine and totally immaculate (these are around £200 second hand!)
It’s stored in my nice & warm garage.
It drives perfectly and the standard 280BHP engine still sounds amazing.
The valuable S800 BYP number plate fitted is included but the original T reg plates will also be included.
I am here to answer any questions that you may have. The history file is large and contains details of the majority of the work completed.
Some items have not been documented but the cam belt and oil/ filter has been changed regularly.
The brake fluid is silicone and was replaced in 2022.
