Description
MA70 7MGTE Manual. Obviously the car has very high mileage, however I am only the second owner. MOT until March 2025.
In my ownership the engine unfortunately spun a shell therefore requiring a rebuild. The crank, block and head have been though a machine shop with receipt. Full rebuild carried out with only 2000miles. ARP head studs and Cometic MHG, new timing belt, water pump, aluminum radiator and cooling fans, turbo and 3" stainless exhaust installed. Exhaust heat wrap and turbo wrap applied. Oil filter relocation kit and oil cooler installed. Aircon and pipework has been removed.
When purchased, the vehicle had rust patches which have been repaired: the boot, rear NS shock mounting area. The underside is solid, MOT history shows the rear subframe has surface rust. It has not seen the rain in around 8 years.
The car is on HSD monopro's. The front brakes are the common 4pot brembo upgrade with 350z rotars, the rears need a rebuild or replacement. Interior is stripped with bucket seats installed. Nardy steering wheel with working horn. The interior lights and stereo do not work, the footwell electrics were in a sorry state which I believe to be the cause.
There are a few issues with the car. The oil pressure and water temperature gauges do not work, however I have installed aftermarket ones with the addition to oil temperature. There is a small seep from the diff. Rocker covers are weeping when running. Valve stem seals could do with replacing, when left offline for a while the first start is smoky for around 5 mins, I believe this to be burning oil that has passed the valves. The paintwork is in need of attention. Central locking does not work and key only locks passengers door. The engine idles high and can be erratic, as with these older cars a tunable ECU would do wonders for it; I no longer have the time or money to do this.
I have loads of the spares with the car but unfortunately not all of the original interior. My plan was to keep this for life, however events are forcing a sale. Please contact me for any more information; I'd be more than happy to answer any question honestly. I purchased this at a young age as a learning project, it certainly has been that. The original owner had a private plate on the car which he wanted removing, unfortunately an MOT on the car was required to allow him to do this. It had been off the road for some years at this point so it needed work hence the sale.
This gets lots of attention and I would be keeping it if at all possible, unfortunately I cannot ship it to Australia. The high mileage will prevent this from ever being a pristine example, however it would make a great track car or project with some love.
