Description

I have been tasked with finding a new home for my late Uncle's Pride & Joy, as my Auntie has never driven. In my view this is a very genuine and unmolested E34 540i Auto, with Shadow-Line pack/ M-Sports suspension and M-Sport steering wheel. Only four owners from new and with the last owner since 2001. Could be returned to total factory specification by removing a few easily reversible additions. In Fjordgrau (graphite Grey). Uncle Dave has owned the car since 2001, it was his retirement gift to himself, he cleaned it at least weekly, didn't like taking it out in the rain and if he did, he used to blow dry it before tucking it to bed in it's garage (I'm not actually joking). It has done just under 170k but you wouldn't know it. It has immaculate replica Alpina wheels with Toyo Proxes all round and a reproduction AC Schnitzer pedal set, but is otherwise very original, including full BMW black leather interior, electric lift up and slide sunroof, fine wood trim, driver's armrest, an unused spare, immaculate boot area, full tool kit etc. A burgeoning book of service history, including many BMW Dealer stamps and some independent specialists too. It has a fresh MOT, October 2025. It is, as far as I know, original in terms of paint and for a 30 year old car, remarkable, he used to valet inside the engine bay (not with a jet wash!) but there are a few little bits to play with/ sort out and with reference to the MOT advisories these include the usual BMW sills around the jacking points needing looking at soon, slight oil leak (This looks high up, valve cover gasket possibly), the driver's seat needs some fettling as the electric adjustments are not presently functioning and the front screen is starting to delaminate in the very bottom right corner. But, otherwise a rare find, with all paperwork and residing at address on V5. Contact me if genuinely interested. Having been a life-long fan of Volvos, Uncle Dave turned to the teutonic BMW for his retirement and has had the car 23 years, more recently averaging between 2 - 3, 000 miles per year. Dave was a fastidious lorry driver who not only knew how to drive well, but also believed in routine maintenance and keeping things tidy, he jet washed and hoovered the company truck at the end of every day and got really grumpy when "Scruffy Urchins" borrowed his wagon! He adopted the same policy with this car, accept no one was allowed to borrow it and he had his own valeting bay in the garage. For an enthusiast who likes a little bit of tinkering this car would be perfect.
