Was in a collection of bikes, and guy selling them off said was not started for a time..... we all know what that means, so have stripped bike down and back up addressing all the few quirks have found on these since owning quite a number since 1994.
Shipped all the panels off to an excellent local pro painter as quite a few scratches and scuffs on them, and wrong fixings etc. The tank and seat cowl were still mint so kept them back so could rebuild, run, ride, and MOT etc.
Will try and remember most of what have done....... stripped engine. Replaced sprag. Replaced timing chain. Tensioner spring. Did shims. Checked inside bores and chambers with ophthalmoscope. When completed did a leakdown test to make sure all 3 pots to spec. Replaced exhaust studs with stainless.
Had wheels powder coated and fitted new set of Angels as old tyres were new tread, but now old rubber.
New oil and filter of course, Mobil full synth.
Thermostat checked. Prestone antifreeze. Volvo fan stat mod, so comes on at sensible temperature.
New big crank battery from Tanya. New MOT.
New carb rubbers. Viton O rings to float bowl mountings. Carbs flushed through, but were clean already. Set up easily in about 5 mins, as they should on these.
New coils, plugs, PVL ignition sensor, caps and leads were fine.
Obviously replaced any gaskets and output seals etc as necessary.
Parts all from either National Triumph or Sprint Manufacturing.
Bike starts and runs and rides like a dream, as it should after that lot.
Has nicely enamel coated headers.
Can come to Leominster station and ride home, or i can get pro delivered to you for about £120, more if way up North or way down West etc. Payment by cash or bank transfer.
Have priced I think realistically. Has all original books and pamphlets, the spare keys, many receipts, most old MOTs to substantiate mileage.
A really adequately quick classic, one of only 805 made, and many to USA.
All carbon is great. Being really critical...... as every prospective buyer will be!...... the very outer edges of the front rings on silencers are scuffed a bit, easily done as they the most sticky out bits. I can easily polish those, but cannot get the perfect ring shape back. Is very minor and have to bend double to see it, but judging against the day it left the factory. I even managed to obtain the two little end trims on the screen edge trim!
Have done a video when bike was stripped to show how it was in its skeleton state, and how all the casings are under the fairings now back on.
