Description
1993 Eunos Roadster S-Limited. 2 previous owners since import in 2000, MOT until May 2025. 2 keys.
Comes with a folder full of service history records and MOT's going all the way back to 2001/ 02. Also includes a translated version of the japanese owner's manual.
I bought the vehicle 15 months ago, and have since then covered 12, 000km (7, 500m) without any trouble or issues whatsoever, except a sticky rear caliper which was replaced with new rear pads and discs. I gave the car a full service back in May (Filters, oil, plugs) about 6, 000km ago, and have replaced the radiator with a like for like aftermarket OE style unit, so the coolant was flushed and replaced at the same time. The auxilliary and PS belts were replaced last year soon after I acquired it. All in all, the engine runs very smoothly and pulls well.
Being the rare 1/ 1000 S-Limited, it has the early 1. 6 engine along with the eye catching red interior, which is in good condition for the age and very presentable. Average wear and patina in the leather, but no cracks or tears anywhere.
At some point in its life, the red interior had been treated to paint sections of it black in order to create a two-tone style effect, which makes it rather unique, but it won't be to everyone's taste. There are certain trim parts where this paint has begun coming off, so you have the option of keeping it as is, or restoring it to the original red.
The paintwork is really what lets this car down, as it has clearly suffered from over exposure to UV light and the elements in the past, and does not look as good in person as it does in pictures. A proper re-spray would make it look amazing again.
It does have the typical MX-5 rust issues on the rear and front ends of the sills, in the typical areas where they rust from the inside out or from mud traps.
The car is generally still quite original as it has the factory engine strut brace and Bilstein shock absorbers. Only modifications of note are Enkei Racing alloys (Not the MK2/ NB alloys, these are the precursor to those) instead of factory spec BBS. A Nardi classic steering wheel (Smaller than the original), and a Sony head unit with Aux and Bluetooth functionality.
The car also comes with a load of spares and parts in the boot, including a litre of Mobil oil (Used for the oil change). Good:
* Good service history since import
* Recent service
* Aux & P/ S belts replaced last year
* New radiator and coolant 6 months ago
* New rear caliper and set of pads and discs on the rear axle 6 months ago
* Bilstein suspension
* Engine strut brace
* Original red interior
* Large capacity battery
* Unmolested car
Bad:
* Paintwork poor with blemishes and patina
* Rust on sills
* Rust on front wings
* No record of the last timing belt & water pump service
* Mohair soft top in poor condition
