The 1958 Magnette was bought by my father (Edward Ross Coleman), as the second owner, in 1959. At that time he was driving a slightly older Magnette as a company car and liked it so much that he traded in our Wolseley 4/ 44 for the second Magnette. Dad retired a number of years later and so then he was down to just one Magnette.
Ross died in 1979 and so mother took over the car and drove it as her main car for a number of years until she bought a more modern car as her day-to-day transport.
In approximately 1994 we took the Magnette to the John Wadey Body Shop in nearby Bury for some rust repair and a full respray (in the same Duotone colours).
Mother died in June 2000 and so the car became mine. I ran it for a number of years and quite often used it as my transport to and from the golf club.
