Description
The Testarossa story traces back to 1973, starting with the Ferrari 365 GT/ 4 BB and its successor Berlinetta Boxer supercars, which fiercely rivaled Lamborghini up until 1984. The Berlinetta Boxers were fast, strikingly stylish, and had an unforgettable sound. However, they had their challenges: cramped interiors, tricky handling, and intense cabin heat. So, in 1984, Ferrari introduced the Testarossa, a car that was larger, wider, and far more practical. By addressing the 512 BB’s limitations, Ferrari created its first truly ‘world’ car. As extravagant and unconventional as it looks, the Testarossa is surprisingly more of a refined Grand Tourer than a hard-edged supercar—though it still demands respect. This flat-12 marvel combines head-turning appeal that can spark childlike wonder with the comfort to make it an ideal companion for a cross-continental getaway. In short, the best of both worlds.
This particular Testarossa is not just any model; it’s one of the rare, early editions, cherished by true collectors. If you were that kid with a Ferrari poster on your wall, you know exactly what we’re talking about! As one of the purest Testarossa versions available, our Testarossa stands out with its distinctive single “flying mirror” (Monospecchio) and 16-inch wheels with single-bolt, knock-off hubs (Monodado). Early examples like this are the absolute truest expressions of all Testarossa’s ever made. Our Testarossa is one of only 300 examples built for the American market in 1986. Of those 300 examples, 2 were donated to Universal Television for the famous TV series Miami Vice. Unlike the white models featured in the show, this car is finished in the iconic Rosso Corsa paint. While many enthusiasts would have opted for a Nero leather interior, this Testarossa’s Beige leather seats with a brown leather dashboard represent the ultimate dream specification for true connoisseurs. Just six years after delivery, this Testarossa was already gracing Belgian roads, and it has remained in Belgium ever since. Currently, the car still has an exceptionally low mileage of just 16, 000 miles.
Renowned for its impeccable engineering, this car sets the standard for sports cars of its era. It’s a genuine classic that marries timeless elegance with modern power. The 4. 9L flat-12 engine is a true masterpiece, paired with a smooth, responsive manual transmission that gives you full control over acceleration and handling. And let’s not forget the just perfect “click-click” sound of metal on metal during each gear shifts—it's pure music to the ears!
Now available at Rock 'N Roll Classics: a low-mileage, early-specification Ferrari Testarossa featuring the coveted Monospecchio and Monodado configurations. This rare and highly desirable model has become increasingly difficult to find, making it a true collector's item. An exceptional opportunity for discerning enthusiasts and investors alike!
