Description

Back in 2001, Lamborghini needed to create a successor to their ever popular Diablo. Their new car needed to be the flagship of the company, one that would carry on the automakers legacy in an age of ever improving engineering and technology. Also at that moment in time something big was happening behind the scenes for the automaker as automotive giant Audi acquired the company back in 1998 along with Bentley and Bugatti. Their upcoming car would be the first new design in eleven years and the very first since their acquisition by Audi. Needless to say the pressure was on for Lamborghini to bring something to the market that the world had never seen before. After nearly five years of planning and design Lamborghini was ready to roll out their newest masterpiece, the Murciélago! Lamborghinis have always been extreme. Extremely beautiful. Extremely fast. Extremely extravagant. However, as predecessor to the Aventador, the Lamborghini Murciélago, has something extra. Designed by Belgian Luc Donckerwolke, this car exudes a unique style and charisma that make it even more desirable for those who can truly appreciate it.

Our Lamborghini Murciélago is the 5th ever produced and one of just 65 made in its inaugural year. As one of the earliest examples, it played a pivotal role in ushering in the Supercar era for Lamborghini. Raw, analogue, and pure, it’s a true driver’s masterpiece. Most notably, this car marks the end of an era for Lamborghini, being the last V12 model to feature a manual transmission. Before we go any further, yes, this Murcielago does have the incredibly sought-after six-speed manual transmission! The car was first delivered to Alberto Garnerone on 12/ 12/ 2001 by Pole Position in Torino. Alberto Garnerone owned a company specializing in signal lights (such as police strobes or amber hazard lights), but he was even more renowned for his true passion for cars. He had one of the largest luxury car collections of the time, with over 300 vehicles including a Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari F50, Maserati MC12, and several other and Italian supercars. When he heard about the creation of Lamborghini's new masterpiece, he knew he had to own one of the first in the world. As we know, Italians are known for their refined taste, and this is evident in this car as well. It was finished in the stunning Nero Metallic which only gets more beautiful when it hits the light, complemented by an optional two-tone interior in Nero & Crema and a Lift system. It is highly likely that Alberto was inspired by the car he had seen during the introduction of the Murciélago at the Lamborghini Club. That car featured the same color combination and is now owned by Stephane Ratel, founder of SRO Motorsports, who is considered the global leader in GT racing.

Today, this car is in exceptional condition, with only three previous owners from new, first paint and a complete flawless service history. But it doesn't just look absolutely stunning; the meticulous care that has been taken with this car is evident in its performance. It drives like a dream. The incredible 6. 2-liter V12 produces 572 hp and 650 Nm of torque, which was groundbreaking for its time—and still is today. It starts effortlessly and sounds just as amazing through the twin exhaust pipes. When this beast is pushed to its limits, you benefit from a permanent four-wheel drive with a viscous traction system to keep it on the road, along with twin air scoops that provide ample cooling to the massive carbon-ceramic brakes. But it also shines in terms of accessories. The car comes with the original Italian registration in the name of Alberto Garnerone, as well as:

- Lamborghini pouch with stamped service booklet and owner’s handbook
- Complete toolset, all present
- Two spare keys
- Tire inflator kit
- Light bulb kit
- Lamborghini hand lamp
- Certificate of Conformity (COC)

This car has all a collector can long for. The fact that this is a highly limited Murciélago, one of the first ever produced, with a manual transmission, original paint, and a complete maintenance history — this car has it all!
