Description
1977 Jaguar xj6 s2 3. 4 in Regency Red with beige/ tan velour seats ...
Car is in good General condition 7/ 10 with light corrosion on the underside but no rust holes from what I've seen and the floors, sills, boot floor area and spare wheel well are all in good condition which you will see in the pictures..
Car looks to have been welded on the front passenger side floor area and rear lower arch near exhaust area but other than that the whole car looks quite solid and not a rust bucket at all...
Car has been owned by me for a year now and since then I have personally spent a lot of money getting parts replaced and work by done by Michael quinn specialist Jaguar services..
The car starts and runs and drives but the carburettors need tuning as it is running rich at the moment so is smokey upon start up from cold but then gets better once the engine has warmed up, gear changing is smooth and car runs quite well on the road, the brakes work OK after having a new Master Cylinder and new brake servo fitted and a new rear caliper and new front brake discs and pads...
Interior is nice but the seats could do with a clean but still look good, all door panels are very clean, the headlining is all generally still in place but has started to bubble underneath in some places but not all over and none hanging down like you see in some cars...
The paintwork is still OK but could really do with a good polishing and there are some age related marks on the car consummate with its now 47 years of age so do not expect a show car although it looks quite well from close up or at a distance...
All the cars controls works apart from the right hand side fuel tank sender which was working previously but now seems to have developed a fault and the water jet onto windscreen function works but needs attention as it seems temperamental and works when it wants to..
Both tanks have been cleaned and new fuel pumps installed either side, new header tank, new angle drive for the speedometer, new hoses etc etc..
Car had no service history at all with it when I acquired it so my receipts are the only history I have apart from a jaguar car passport from when it was new and a few old British Leyland papers but my recipes Alan's amount to more than £4000 alone..
This car has a current Mot Certificate which can be viewed online and the car has had 5 previous owners and I have the Log book present in my name with 2 sets of car keys...
The steel wheels are in OK condition and look to me to have been sprayed silver in the past but are all OK to look at and the centre chrome hubcaps are still in good looking condition and relatively shiny ...
The car is located in Central London area near Wembley Stadium area and I would prefer you to view the car before you think about buying so you can see and judge for youreself and my description is Accurate and Honest...
Private plate SPU 75R is not included with the car which is now registered as TLJ 839R...
I am selling this car due to recently acquiring a Mercedes-Benz w126 car which means I now have 2 gas guzzlers and I just can't afford to service and run the both of them so sadly the jaguar has to go ...
The running issue I would say is easily enough fixed and as stated the car needs it's carburettors tuned to run properly or maybe just a good blow out on a Long or short motorway drive to cure it's issue and when driving the car has good oil pressure and runs well enough and just needs some good old skool attention by someone who knows Jaguars and how to service a carburettor..
