Description
Handmade Body:
The "Wacky Racer" inspired body was handmade and certainly isn't for the faint of heart or the more conservative amongst us.
Suzuki Samurai Running Gear:
The running gear is based on the tried and tested Suzuki Samurai, and features the 1300cc engine mated to a manual gearbox.
Correctly Registered:
This is registered as a 1993 "Midge Replica", which is a bonus for those who would be brave enough to take this vehicle onto the open roads.
4-Wheel Drive:
The Suzuki Samurai features a 4-wheel drive platform and it appears this has been carried over (untested).
Wire Wheels:
This vehicle wears a set of expensive wire wheels which we believe really adds to the overall look of the vehicle.
The current registered keeper purchased this vehicle during the Covid lockdown and set about making it into the unique looking vehicle you see before you. It hasn't been used in a good while and is now being sold as a good basis for a winter project.
This vehicle starts, moves and stops, but the MOT lapsed in August and has had little to no use of late. It now appears to require a good going over before any use (brakes sticky, smokey, etc).
We would describe the overall exterior cosmetic condition as "Presentable". It has been handmade from scratch and as such isn't going to offer the refinement of a luxury vehicle, but what it lacks in refinement it more than makes up for in character! The free hardtop appears to be handmade from sheet metal and we wouldn't recommend using it while driving.
Likewise, we would also describe the overall interior cosmetic condition as "Presentable". A lot of the elements have also been handmade from scratch, and as such isn't going to offer the refinement of a luxury vehicle, but what it lacks in refinement it more than makes up for in character - including the gun gearknob!
We do not have access to ramps so are unable to inspect the underneath in any worthwhile detail and recommend any serious potential buyer to contact us to arrange an inspection prior to buying.
Transportation:
We can provide you with a price for transport from a third-party transportation company (circa £1. 80 per mile one-way from CM21 with a minimum fee of £160).
Good points:
- Unique hand built body
- Fantastic looking
- Manual gearbox
- Correctly registered
- Based on the tried and tested Suzuki Samurai
- Four-wheel Drive
- Wirewheels
- Free hardtop - recommend not using while driving as it is made from sheet metal.
Known faults:
- Sat unused for a while
- Engine smoky and doesn't appear to be running cleanly
- Hand built but not by Rolls-Royce, doesn't offer the same refinement as a Rolls-Royce :-)
