Description
Early pre-production / press car Range Rover Sport Supercharged up for sale. I’ve had it since 2017 (bar a one year gap (I sold it and bought it back 2022-3 ☺️)).
Please do your research but this is a fantastic and now-rare piece of Land Rover history
Its a super-early pre-production car (VIN 205). The ‘first built’ car in the Heritage Collection is VIN 505.
It was used as a press car (Fifth Gear driven by Tiff Needell, and on a Jeremy Clarkson DVD (Heaven and Hell) round the Top Gear test track). Wrapped copy comes with the car.
Comprehensive maintenance file during my ownership including body off suspension overhaul by Richard Canterbury of RCM 4x4 in York. (£8k)
New Quicksilver exhaust this year (£1900) plus fitting and service at RCM 4x4 Limited (£800) and wheels refurbished in the Spring (£450)
Car has never wanted for anything in my ownership. Needs nothing now. Currently on 130k miles and with 390bhp pulls strongly and cleanly. These engines have a timing chain and not a belt and known for their durability.
Vesuvius Red Exterior (the signature colour for the launch models). Black leather interior in good condition with carpet mats and rubber over mats.
A proper piece of Land Rover history. Car 51 in the 70-vehicle cavalcade at Goodwood in 2018. This was the beginning of the journey towards the SVR performance models of today. I bought this car * because* of its provenance. It’s a real eyeful; it sounds fabulous and it’s a real landmark car; the Sport Supercharged was the watershed moment at which Land Rover first produced a performance car. Things have moved on and the current SVR is 567 bhp but this is plenty lively enough! Moreover it is not highly strung or temperamental…it just goes and does.
