Description
Velocette KSS 350 1948
Last year of the Cammy Velos !
A very rare OHC Velocette with telescopic forks, as fitted for this year only by the Veloce factory . 1948 being the final year of production for this prestigious model and the majority of these machines being exported to the USA so as earn much needed post war dollars . Hence the epithet displayed on the front number plate. However it is believed that this machine has been based in the UK since manufacture.
It is consider by some that the Dowty forks were inefficient , however the pair fitted here maintain pressure for months at a time without deflating . A set of replacement springs are included in the sale . The telescopic forks allow a much improved and smoother ride than the erstwhile Girder type.
The Velocette is in good mechanical condition and has been recently ridden on the road. Engine, gearbox, clutch work well, the electrical system is fully operational , the bike is fitted with the correct all clear horn. The brakes are adequate for modern traffic.
The Enamel is good all over with the occasional blemish or scratch. Chrome on the wheel rims and exhaust are good. The Machine has been with its current owner for two years and is clean and commissioned
This is a very rare OHC Velocette in good cosmetic condition and ready for the road
