Description
This Honda CB92 (1962) has been placed in the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford, Aberdeenshire (see pictures please) by its third owner in 2011. The previous 2 restored the bike to nearly perfection. After the museum it has been in the family of owner 3.
In 2020 it was sold to Motorcycles United, which sold me the bike.
As it was “museum ready” and not driven since 2011, I checked the bike to get it “road-ready”. It means the following:
- Electric ignition installed (old contact breaker still kept and included in buy)
- New battery (not ready installed, but included if bought), old one still works nicely
- New Heidenau 18 inch inner and outer tyres
- Wheel hubs front and rear sand-cast and in original NH35 color re-painted and covered with transparent coating.
- Wheel hub front bushing completely revised
- Wheel hub rear bushing completely revised
- New thickened spokes rear wheel
- New thickened spokes front wheel
- Brakes revised
- Carburetor cleaned
- Engine flushed and cleaned
- Valves cleaned and adjusted
- New air filter
- Gasoline tank de-rusted and thorougly cleaned
- New modern non-leaky gasoline tap installed (old genuine ones included in buy)
- NOS rear swing arm axle, as the one which it came with, was too short (probably replaced with non genuine axle).
- Clutch basket replaced with NOS basket
- Clutch friction plates replaced with new ones
- Race steering balls and cups replaced for new set
- Rear light mounting bracket replaced for genuine shaped one
- Parts Manual included
- Repair Manual included
- British MOT papers included + license plate
- Dutch MOT papers included
The coating/ paint of the outside of the petrol-tank is slightly damaged.
It drives, shifts and brakes really well. A real eye-catcher with a remarkable sound (see YT movie please). It is a truly remarkable bike. Not only to the eye, but to the ears as well. Only a small amount of these bikes have ever set foot to the public road, as they have not been produced in very large quantities.

The bike has only gotten better when it came in my possession. The bike has always been in a heated garage and it has only been driven during sunny weather (only 2 rides till now).
The hobby is coming to an end due to family expansion.
