Description
Only recently purchased, but have been offered an opportunity which i'm unable to pass on, so ideally a quick sale is required, hence the price.
This is a 1971 Fiat 850 Spider, which was officially converted to RHD back in the day, only a handful of RHD 850 exist making this a rare little car.
This is not a cobbled together conversion this has been done correctly and I believe it was carried out over 40 years ago...
Was last on the road back in the early 2000s and dry stored since. I purchased the car with the intention of carrying out a very light re-commissioning, a small amount of paintwork and just enjoying the car.
Its an extremely pretty little car and looks very original, it still carries the fiat decals and chassis plates from the factory in the door shuts. The hood and interior are both totally original, the bodywork might have had localised paint in the past but I'm undecided as it looks pretty original and very straight, with just the tinyest of corrosion around the bottom of the screen and a small blister on a front wing. The underneath and chassis are spotless, with no repairs evident or any signs of previous corrosion.
I have a few parts to go with the car, a water pump, a couple of spare Campagnola alloy wheels and a passenger side front bumper corner which is NOS
Mechanically I have gone through the car and it is on the button, starts first time, will sit at tick over all day without concern of over heating.
Fitted with a a sport exhaust and campaganola alloy wheels gives it that air of sportiness, I believe these could do 90mph without a problem, buzzing around town I would imagine thats true as its quite nippy and makes a nice rasp from the exhaust.
With 99. 9% of 850 spiders being LHD this makes a very nice RHD example, with a tiny amount of ongoing improvement could be a really stunning example. The mileage is believed genuine at 36, 000 miles.
