Description
I picked this bike up as a non-runner earlier this year from a long term owner and it had clearly been standing for some time. Since then I have given the bike a de-coke ( including a having the head aqua blasted), replaced the engine mounting rubbers and buffers which had perished, fitted a new 600 Concentric ( original carb and filter included) new speedo cable, tidied up the wiring, replaced the rear crankshaft oil seal, new spark plugs and HT leads, new battery, new dynamo brushes (all sourced from Stewart Engineering) and changed all the oils.
I have taxed ( Historic vehicle ) and insured the bike and I have completed a couple of short test rides. Oil pressure is good, all lights work and showing a good charge. All gears present and correct and the clutch works smoothly. Chronometric speedo works fine
.
Mostly original bike with all the hard to find parts in place, also has a Stewart Engineering sump extension. Good Avon Speedmaster tyres with original Dunlop rims in fair condition. The rest of the chrome work shows it's age with lots of 'patina' Paintwork has been touched up in the past but looks like it has never been restored.
V5 in my name, original buff log book and some old MOTs with the bike.
The bike will definitely benefit from more use and fettling but is a sound original bike with some provenance. Ready for a new owner with time and space - I already have two many bikes! The bike is near Melton Mowbray. Happy to answer any questions you might have.
