Description
1984 Jaguar XJS V12 5. 3L, in extremely good condition.
This is my Dads Jaguar XJS and he has owned it since 1994. It started off as his everyday car, for about 2 1/ 2 years, whilst he slowly improved it. It got to the point where he felt the condition of the car was to good to be driving it in winter and the rain. Since then it has been garaged its entire life coming out on dry days for concourse shows and weekend drives as part of the Jaguar Enthusiasts club and Jaguar Drivers club and the tinkering and improvements continued. It boasts its original paintwork polished and waxed and extremely smooth. From 1995 - 2005 it won several concourse events and shows.
In the early 2000s my Dads circumstances changed and he ended up working away from home so the car covered very little miles from 2005 to 2022. In 2022 I began to start getting the Jag back to full health, it needed very little work due to my dad continuing to start it every month and it being under a cover in the garage. I changed all the drive belts, all 12 spark plugs (including the hard to get to front 2 plugs), it had new coolant, 4 new Blockley Tyres in the correct period style and size, new ignition amplifier and the distributor has been cleaned and oiled (an often forgotten service item) then XJS now drives as well as it looks and is extremely smooth as a V12 Jaguar should be. It also had a another service at this point. It recently returned to its winning ways by taking best 1980s car at the 2024 Capesthorn hall classic car show, the main photo is the XJS at that show.
There's a lot of videos of the XJS on my YouTube channel (mostly shorts) : - details above.
The underneath of this XJS is as clean as the body work and the engine bay is immaculate. It also comes with a full service history as well as a lot of extra services carried out at home.
It has also has a few subtle modifications which boosts bhp to around 330 bhp (AJ6 estimate with these modifications) these include:
-AJ6 full stainless steel TT Extractor Torque Booster exhaust
-AJ6 advanced ecu
-AJ6 large throttle body conversion
It has also had a lot of other improvements which include:
-Full braking system restoration
-All the universal joints have been replaced on the prop shaft.
-Complete removal of the rear axle and drive shafts, universal joints replaced, wheel bearing and seals replaced.
-Front suspension springs and dampers replaced.
-Steering rack and hydraulic pipes replaced.
-New throttle potentiometer.
-Automatic gearbox filter and oil replaced.
-Front under arch splash guards replaced.
The only issues I have found with the car are:
-There's a slight ripple in the bodywork on the drivers side front wing, something from the rafters of the garage fell onto whilst it was in storage. The cover was on so it did not scratch the paint. Picture included.
-There was a stone chip on the passenger door at some point and it has been touched up. The touch up is about the size of a 50p coin.
-The front valence has a few stone chips
-The Air conditioning had been re-conditioned with a new condenser etc. But it was never re-gassed.
This Jaguar XJS really is a time capsule and there can't be many in this condition and that have had this much time and attention throughout its life. My Dad has owned this car for my entire life and I will be extremely sad to see it go but unfortunately it just doesn't get enough use anymore.
Thanks for looking.

This Jaguar XJS has been in my family since 1994 and my childhood centralised around going to car shows and different Jaguar events. It has a lot of sentimental value and we will be extremely sad to see it go. But its time for someone else to enjoy and cherish it as we have for the last 30 years.
