Description
This is a very unusual Cayenne Orange early w123 saloon with a sweet straight 6 engine and auto box. Original, unrestored condition - and immaculate.
Supplied by Jim Russell's dealership in Downham Market. Jim was a successful Formular 3 racing driver and later ran a motor racing school in Snetterton. The car has been featured in the MB Club Gazette in April 2012 and included as an example of the 250 model in the marque book by Mark Buckley and Mark Cosovich 'Mercedes-Benz W123: The Finest Saloon Car of the 20th Century?' (2014).
The body work is excellent and the jacking points and underside have no rust. It has been waxoiled. The chrome is perfect. The tyres are new. The only area that might benefit from attention are the door rubbers which are a little cracked. The car has been garaged from new by its three owners before me.
The interior is pristine with no wear or damage whatsoever. Carpets are excellent and protected by new rubber mats.
Mechanically it is very good indeed - nice and clean under the bonnet. In the three years I have had the 250 it has been looked after by the specialist Steve Redfearn (London and Surrey). It has needed very little (new radiator, automatic choke) and has all service records present and correct with invoices. The brakes were rebuilt before my time and are very efficient. The low mileage is confirmed by documentation. The handbook and full service record are present in the original leather wallet.
Cayenne Orange was a special colour order, as was power steering and the hard-wearing fabric upholstery. The original radio is present and functioning correctly.
