Reluctantly for sale is a 78 Yamaha SR500 flat track race bike. I only bought it earlier this year with the aim of racing in the DTRA in 2025. Sadly though due to family circumstances I’m not going to be able to race any time soon.
The bike was last raced in the 2022/ 23 seasons. It was running superbly but the previous owner then utilised the carburettor in another one of his SR500’s. However the bike has a very strong spark, plenty of compression, the clutch feels great and it goes through the gears perfectly. Clutch plates were replaced by previous owner. All it needs is a carb fitting and it’ll be good to go. It’s in great condition, I’d say someone with a bit time could make the engine casings look better with a bit of elbow grease.
Tyres are very good with plenty of life. Overall a great looking bike that will serve someone well on the track or likewise would make a great addition to a mancave or shed.
