Description
Given the Elva Mk7 had just a small production run of 29 cars, this is an exciting and rare opportunity to purchase a sports racer that has been actively campaigned with huge success, on both sides of the Atlantic, since it was built in 1963. In fact, chassis 70/ 003 was the third ever Mk7 to roll off the production line, which only adds to its appeal
This particular Mk7 has lived in the USA and UK throughout its life and has a long and exceptionally well documented history of competition from 1963 to the present day. Detailing it would take reams of prose here, so instead of chapter and verse, I have a separate written history file which I will be pleased to forward. It's a fascinating and immensely comprehensive history, with huge level of detail as to historic and recent refurbishment work and competition entries and wins over the years.
Most recently prepared by historic motor racing specialists TTP and raced by Robi Bernberg and Andy McKenna, its competitive ability is certainly not in question. Notably raced by Mr Bernberg in the pouring rain at the 2016 Goodwood Revival Madgwick Cup, plus a host of other events during 2016, including an outright win at Mallory Park, three class wins at Donnington, another class win at Castle Combe - all clearly demonstrating this Elva is a leading contender.
It's rather apt then, that the name Elva, comes from the French phrase, 'Elle Va', meaning 'She Goes'!
Finally, this very pretty little Elva (a former Bonhams Christmas card cover-girl no less!) comes with full FIA HTP papers valid through until 2025. An opportunity not to be missed!
