Description
Porsche 928S4 1988 automatic RHD
Grand Prix white, black leather interior. 141, 700 miles. Mot until March 2025. 16 owners. Owned for 12 years and loved driving it. Done several big trips with it including Porsche museum visit. Spoiler is unpainted in black with wing mirrors and headlamp covers in black. All windows have light black tint not including windscreen. GTS style rear bumper with reflector. D90 alloy wheels. Has standard downpipes and centre silencers but powerflow back box. Not drony or deafening on the road but sounds great.
Recent work carried out in the last year;
. Cambelt and water pump replacement to include rebuilding tensioner.
. Steel braided brake hoses and full brake fluid change.
. Polyflex historic series front upper wishbone bushes and ball joint covers replaced.
. New cv boots
. New n/ s rear wheel bearing
. Major service to include engine oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter and secondary air pump filter, spark plugs, gas analyse and c0 tune up.
. All Fuel injectors tested, cleaned and rebuilt and 1 new genuine injector fitted
. New throttle position switch
. Replacement pressure pipe for power steering.
. Rear hatch lock insert
. Full front and rear geometry setup
In my ownership cylinder head gaskets have been replaced and heads rebuilt in process at approximately 120k miles. Full intake system refresh. Replacement radiator. Oil changed atleast once a year and multiple major services including gearbox fluids. Front brake caliper rebuild with new piston seals. Solid steering rack mounts fitted to sharpen up steering feel and steering rack rebuild. Engine sump gasket replaced. Multiple flex plate tension releases and crank end float checks. Well within spec each time and never any metal in the oil. In previous ownership the MAF sensor was rebuilt.
Downsides:
Paintwork- I scuffed the n/ s front edge of the front bumper some years ago and over time the paint has progressively flaked off the bottom edge. I have applied a coat of white to take the eye off it but needs respraying. Bubbling on drivers door and front wing around indicator lamp. Scuffs on front edge of bonnet touched up but do stand out. Like so money to make it perfect it would benefit from a full respray.
Air con- not working. I have never been fussed with having it working.
Dashboard- crack approximately 1 inch in length from the top left corner next to the glovebox. Otherwise in very good condition.
Service history- I suspect a previous owner never handed over the majority of its first servicing invoices including the original service book. The service book I have is a replacement. It was stamped for a service in 1998 with space left to fill in before but was never completed. The book is now full with servicing from the last 12 years. I have various invoices between late 90’s upto when I took ownership then extensive invoicing and service history for the last 12 years.
In summary if you’re looking for a superb condition 928 this is not the one for you. It is a very good running car and drives superbly. Iam confident anyone would get to love this car once youve driven it.
