Description
1974 Carmine Red Triumph Stag - manual
NOTE: the mileage cannot be guaranteed as the speedometer may have been replaced at some point.
The car runs and drives but does need work, so best described as a rolling restoration. But for the purpose of this sale is being sold as spares or repair.
The paintwork is very presentable. There is a crack in the paintwork near one of the wipers and there is some rust on the inside of the boot lid, as shown in the photographs. Other than that, there is very little rust.
The car is tax and MOT exempt and is still insured so I can take anyone interested out on a short test drive.
The interior needs work on the dashboard and the front seat covers. The rear seat is good and the carpets are fairly new. The electric windows work fine
Comes with the hardtop as shown. The hood has been folded down for a long time, so can be difficult to clip into place and there have been a couple of repairs where it has been nicked on the side. These are shown in the photos.
The wheels and tyres are good, as are the chrome bumpers.
The car has a working overdrive.
Recently replace parts include:
ignition coil
silicone plug leads
new points
new condenser
new ballast resister
oil change and filter
fuel filter
Now for the not so good bits:
engine has some oil leaks (still drives OK)
wiring to the windscreen washers needs attention as the previous owners attempt was not very good
heater only works on the fast speed
parcel shelf on passenger side is missing
interior lights only work from the main switch, not the door switches
The car does need work but this is reflected in the price. I would advise coming to view the car to see what is needed.
This is a really cheap price for a running, driving Stag, especially one with an original Triumph V8, so please don't ask "what is the best price you will take" ... this is it!
Also, I need to get it out of storage, so no time wasters please.
