I have owned the car for 18 months and given it a rolling restoration improving the mechanicals and ironing out any niggles but lack of use and other projects forces a reluctant sale.
Would make a great winter mini project to improve some of the cosmetics (as expected with the age/ mileage) ready for show season or just drive and enjoy as it is.
Viewing recommended - I have many more photos/ videos including all the work I have carried out in my ownership, happy to give video tours etc. I can send videos of the hood operation of of the engine on cold start (stainless exhaust is very subtle but has a lovely cold start sound)Having previously owned other Lexus models I always fancied a sc - the engine, the dependable luxury and of course the reputation after that clarkson review!
I bought the car from a friend who had taken in part exchange against a newer sc - it had been stood for sometime and needed some general tlc. Part of the appeal was the chance to nurture the car back to its best and give it a new lease of life.
It’s probably the cheapest way to get into v8 ownership in the uk and comes in a reliable and economical (30mpg is achievable on a run, mid/ low 20s around town) package.
The car failed its mot last year on emissions as the original exhaust was shot - I was apprehensive but had no other option than to go stainless aftermarket, but the garage did a first class job. The sound is quiet and subtle with a sweet v8 grumble if you get motoring.
