Description
EUS 91K. First registered 13. 07. 72 to Wilkinson Property Investment Trust Ltd, Pall Mall, London as a senior investors vehicle. The owner transferred the car to other companies including Cedar Holdings and McAlpine’s accounting for the first four of the recorded eight owners. Remaining in London, the fifth owner (Ms Phyllis Mullings) looked after the car for 21 years during which time the body was fully restored (hence the great condition now).
Receipts are present from previous owners up to 2022 for purchases from Stag specialists including Rimmers, Paddocks, and Rob Sport mainly for mechanical parts (fuel pump, battery etc) and new bumpers in 2022 (costing £850).
The V5 is present and is registered in my name. I bought the car in May 2024 with the intention of restoring and running it. However, I already have a white Stag (that I use for weddings).
The car has been professionally inspected by a Stag specialist. The conclusion is that there is no problem with the head gasket but it does need a new water pump. As it’s winter, I’d rather sell the car now as a seasonal project. My view is, with the engine sorted, this is a very good original MK1 at £12 to £14k. The roof is very good (optic 3 years old), as is the bodywork. It needs paint on the corner of the bonnet (it has crazed, see picture - no rot) and a new drivers seats due to the fabric tearing (I have one that can be included in the price). The engine runs, but will over heat without a new water pump - it has a new radiator and Kenlow fan fitted.
Here is your winter project. Here’s the winter project you are looking for if you want to focus on the engine - the bodywork is done. Fit a new water pump and you’re up and running.
