Description
Mid 1920's Aluminium and timber framed Zeppelin style sidecar. Believed to be an AJS Supersports Type RD23.
Comprehensive refurbishment including replacement of all bottom timber and aluminium sheet. Some replacement of upper aluminium sheets but majority left to ensure the patina was left as far as possible. One small repair to cockpit hinged door with small aluminium piece riveted in. Seat back and seat replaced with new timber and all re trimmed in leather with matching trim to underside of cockpit door. Comprehensive photographic history of renovation process available on requestThis sidecar does not have any makers or retailers marking. It is however believed to be a very rare AJS Supersport RD23 sidecar based upon images from contemporary adverts. It is understood AJS outsourced side car production at the time and this sidecar probably came from the same maker that supplied Swallow and other contemporary motorcycle manufacturers. Further investigation would be required to precisely identify it.
