Welcome to the sale advert for my lovely 1964 Porsche 356C RHD. This car is matching numbers (body, engine, gearbox as per its Kardex) and presents in its original colour of ‘Rubinrot’ Red. EAD 1C was first registered in 1964 in South Africa. It spent the first 36 years of its life there, avoiding the damp climate of the UK. In 1988, the vehicle was exported to the UK and purchased in 1989 by its long-term London-based owner who also had a collection of air-cooled Porsche’s and used EAD 1C sparingly, whilst ensuring the car was kept in perfect condition.
I purchased EAD 1C in the Summer of 2020, and decided to recommission the vehicle. EAD 1C has never suffered from rust, damage, any major body repairs and has never been restored previously. During this recommission, I have spent approximately £15, 000 on restoring/ replacing the brakes, suspension, fuel lines, tyres, engine overhaul, addition of seatbelts, a smaller steering wheel (original is present) and have since enjoyed over 8, 000 miles where the car has proven to be reliable and enjoyable to own. The bodywork and interior present exceptionally and are wholly original. The brightwork and windows are all original, and therefore boast some honest patination.
Accompanying EAD 1C, is the original tool kit, jack, correct period 6v charger, original spare wheel, and the original book pack inclusive of the Kardex. EAD 1C’s history includes letters from the previous keeper in South Africa describing the originality of the car, various MOT certifications and bills since it was exported. In my ownership EAD1C has been serviced every year regardless of mileage, with the most recent service being completed by marque specialists during summer of 2024 (less than 100 miles ago).
