Description
This is my sweetheart of a shovelhead.
She's a 1977 FLH1200, originally from Tennessee. Imported around 2018 and was recommissioned before I got a hold of it.
Luckily it's all fairly original, no hidden nasties just a nice honest old bike. Bags of "patina" and a big bucket full of character. This old girl gets attention wherever she goes!
As I've said it shows it's age, the paint reflects this. A few little scuffs and chips but nothing ugly. The chrome and engine also show their age but are still absolutely lovely. This will appeal to a very specific kind of person. But to the right person it's just the best.
It's changed a tiny bit since the photos. It's now got an older style tail light on it and I'm currently in the process of making a new seat for it, I've also swapped the twin pipes out for a 2-1 however the originals will come with it!
There's only one downside to it, the starter motor has just started skipping. Not all the time but it can be intermittent. She's a solid 2 kick bike without that and starts straight up, and lumbers into life! I've got a whole spare starter set up that I'm going to fit, however it'll come with the bike if I haven't gotten around to it! I suspect it's the starter clutch/ bendix which is a fairly simple swap. Just means the primary needs to come apart.
Other than that she's absolutely solid. The kind of bike that'll take you anywhere. I'd definitely recommend viewing it if you are interested!
Ideally I'm looking for a swap or px for something I can chop, I couldn't sleep at night chopping this one up so ideally I want to find something I can make an old chop out of! So most things are considered!
Any questions please ask!
