1973 roadster with great provenance
This car has had many class wins and won the MG car club North West Cockshoot series outright in 1993 in the hands of the then owner; who told me what a pleasure it was to drive.
It has competed at just about every UK circuit and attended the MG Annual at Silverstone many many times as a competitor. (History on file)
I’ve just been right through the car so it’s ready to go racing again, whether this be circuit, spring or hillclimbing.
Luckily it’s also road registered (now tax and mot exempt) so can even be driven to events if you so wish!
Engine is 1950cc, overbored with larger pistons etc

Stage 3 head
Head ported and polished with huge inlet and exhaust valves (as large as regs allow) and double valve springs with titanium retainers
Head has just been off and has been ceramic coated (£600) and treated to a cometic steel laminate head gasket.
Fueling is via a Weber 45 carburettor on a sports manifold with a facet red top pump in the rear
3into1 tubular sports exhaust
Ignition is all new, Electronic distributor, leads and new accuspark sports coil and plugs
Fuel tank is foam filled
Gearbox is a 4 speed straight cut race unit, with over drive removed for lightness.
Suspension wise front has lowered springs with negative camber arms , and spax adjustable dampers
Rear has sports springs, spax adjustable dampers and anti-tramp bars
Sits in a nice set of minator wheels with almost new toyo sticky tyres
Body she is very good and solid with no rust.
It had fibreglass front wings and rear quarter panels, boot lid and front valance. Hardtop also fibreglass. Lightweight aluminium bonnet and lightweight plastic side windows and sebring headlight cowls. Doors are origonal steel.
Inside there is a full competition roll cage, a pair of Cobra bucket seats and race harnesses. Fire suppression sysytem also present for driver and engine bay.
Fresh engine oil and filter, gearbox fluid is fresh as is the diff.
Brakes just overhauled with brand new front calipers, drilled and grooves front discs and yellow stuff pads. New brake and clutch master cylinder and throttle cables also fitted
Properly quick and very competitive little car in the right hands. It’s a very raw and extremely rewarding drive, that instantly transports you back to the golden age of motoring.
