This beautiful retro classic car comes in excellent condition with a FSH, Recent MOT, having been professionally maintained throughout- mechanically and bodywork / interior, with no expense spared. Purchased 6 years ago from another SAAB enthusiast I used it for business trips around the UK (so mainly healthy motorway miles). Beautifully restored, original Aero seats and body rust has been treated. Recent new exhaust.
Great to look at with professionally refurbed 9000 Aero wheels. Rapid acceleration and comfortable, smooth drive with refurbished, automatic gearbox (gives a better drive than my manual 9000 Anniversary Aero). Professional LPG conversion makes it extremely economical to run, but also easy to switch to petrol at any time (gives better mpg than my manual 9000!). 29 MPG - Petrol or LPG (costs £30 to fill LPG tank). The LPG tank is beneath the boot floor, having minimal impact on the boot space.
Full 9000 Aero spec: Electric Recaro seats, in full working order with new heating system, Electric sunroof, AAC, etc. Fabulous to drive - best of any 9000 I have driven. High performance in a velvet glove. Low running costs and Low insurance for the performance.
Selling due to divorce - otherwise it would become my next classic car. Plus everyone tells me keep it: "I wish I never sold my 9000" but sadly I just won't have the space soon. I've invested a lot in this car for that reason and 9000 Aero prices will follow that of the older 900 Aeros as the next desirable retro classic. Love the rarity, Aero styling, smooth drive, hidden performance and the rare Aero seats. Full Service History. Regular oil changes.
All the usual 9000 weak points sorted or improved:
- wings replaced by previous owner
- gearbox - refurbed by previous owner
- front seat - professional refurbishment
- new brakes all round
- DI ignition unit - a genuine SAAB part
- water reservoir
(commonly cracks)
- central locking
(new modules fitted)
- New headlights (any 9000 without new headlights will be dangerous to drive in the dark)
- fuel tank straps
- power steering
- reversing camera (so much easier to park this 9000!)
- New ignition switch
- New Fuel Pump (genuine SAAB)
- Waxoyled
Driver’s seat repaired by auto leather craftsman who also fitted more robust carbon heat pads. Protection layer re-applied to both front seats. Aero seats are superbly comfortable - (everyone comments when they sit in them).
Professional LPG conversion with latest system, with no drop in performance or economy at 70p/ litre.
Always run on E5 Fuel (Shell) so tank and fuel lines remain preserved.
Honest bits: headlight wipers need fixing and the bonnet has small stone chips.
