Description
Jaguar XKR portfolio 4. 2, only 4 former keeper and 72494 miles in celestial black Recently MOT pass with no advisory’s as well as recent service including brakes and tyres and valley pipes I’ve owned the jag since the start of 2022. I bought the jag from a private seller who was selling as he had retired and had no use for the jag as he wouldn’t commute anymore.
This is the limited edition portfolio model with was only available from 2007 to 2008, the production was limited to 200 cars. Making this a very rare car.
The engine and gearbox are all working like a dream. Beautifully smooth with a nice gentle burble from the exhaust. Pulls all the way up the rev range with out issue. A couple of years ago the valley pipes were changed and fitted with heat resistant shields, to protect them from the heat of the engine which causes them to dry and crack. The supercharger was also serviced at the same time.
The suspension is all smooth no knocks or bangs. All front links have been replaced in recent years, only covering a few thousand miles since replacement, tracking is also spot on having had 4 wheel alignment done last year only a few hundred miles have been covered since.
All the electrics are working without issue. Radio sounds great and not like an old worn out stereo. Recently there has been a new battery fitted and the car is kept on a trickle charger.
Wheels and tyres in food condition. The Dunlop tyres have only done a few hundred miles since. As a result they are in nearly new condition. The wheels are a little bit tatty. There are a couple of marks on them all. One has curbing marks from a large pothole but the wheel has been checked for and buckle or dent when having new tyres fitted.
The Alcon brakes are the most powerful brakes Jaguar has fitted to a car and at the time of manufacture were the most powerful fitted to a production car and are in great condition. Discs and pads all round have been replaced and the fluid has been flushed every 2 years as recommended. No pistons are seized which is a common issue on the Alcon brakes. The callipers are a little tatty and could do with a deep clean/ painting.
The body work is in average condition. The front bumper has a few deep stone chips and could do with being resprayed. There are a few marks which need attention on the doors and boot lid and sill. But for a 16 year old car the body work is reasonable. I have got an unopened 2. 5 litre tin of paint which has been made to match the car exactly. The colour is celestial black which in the right light looks blue thanks to the heavy blue flake
Unfortunately the jag has got a cat N from several years ago but has been repaired professionally. Selling as I simply don’t use the car enough and having other jags and Jensens I enjoy more. Enthusiast ownedI bought this jag as a treat for myself after always saying that I’d have one eventually. When this limited edition portfolio model came up for sale I jumped at it. I drove the jag daily through out the cost fuel crisis because I simply couldn’t resist not driving it.
