I am seeking offers for my 1930 Morris Minor, 1st registered 30th December 1930 OHC model 2 door saloon.
Note this is not the side valve engined car 2 door saloon
I have too many projects and family matters to deal with to give me time to complete this project.
I acquired the car as a restoration project to go along side my 1931 Morris Minor two seater.
The work carried out so far :-
Brakes rebuilt, springs overhauled (by others)
Radiator re-cored with original style honeycomb
Radiator surround re-chromed
The original enamel badge was damage so this was sent to W O Lewis in Birmingham for restoration.
New tyres and chrome hub centers
Gearbox removed and rebuilt with new bearings, new layshafts and bushes, propshaft brake rebuilt splines on primary shaft repaired.
Dynamo rebuilt.
Engine removed
Crank shaft stripped, galleries cleaned, crank ground and new cast white metal big ends
Flywheel rebuilt, new clutch plates, springs etc & ring gear. The whole assembly has been to a specialist and balanced, con rods weighed and matched !!
Block rebored with new pistons and rings, Fan pulley and thrust housing modified for lip seal rather than scroll.
The head has new valves and an upgrade kit from Sports and Vintage with housing bevel gears, seals etc to stop the oil leak from the head to the dynamo. The rear NS stud hole had corroded through so the original sleeve has been removed and replaced with a new stainless steel sleeve.
Complete gasket set
Engine requires reassembling.
No work has been done on the body to date.
