Originally a Jaguar factory demonstrator, the car was sold on by main dealer Guy Salmon to the first owner who continued maintenance with them until he sold it in 2019 to an acquaintance, and I purchased this in early 2023 from the reputationally excellent Jaguar trader, Robert Hughes of Weybridge.
Finished in Frost Blue with a Navy hood, Cream perforated sports hide and piano black console, this XKR presents beautifully and has been given everything it needs by it's 4 custodians..
In my ownership I have purchased both an Adamesh exhaust system and a Wind Break (£750 spent), and also had the popular Supercharger belt and pulley conversion with remap, courtesy of my local Jaguar specialists (Stevenage Prestige). This cost me £1320 and adds approx. 90bhp and 90lb/ ft to the standard numbers. The original exhaust with rear mufflers comes with the vehicle in case you prefer the quieter option.
The supercharger conversion ensures the more reliable 4. 2 engine now matches the grunt of the later 5. 0 XKR, yet remains totally driveable, but torquer through the entire rev range, with 0-60mph coming up in just over 4 seconds.
The car is in fantastic mechanical and cosmetic condition, with plenty of service history, 4 good tyres, and a folder of receipts, plus 2 keys. The roof works perfectly, the gearbox is super smooth, and very sporty when used with the paddles. The climate control blows ice cold and works perfectly, as do the heated memory seats, awesome stereo, parking sensors (f&r), adaptive cruise control, and windows. The 20 inch original alloys are also unmarked and in fantastic condition.
The only faults are 3 small cosmetic blemishes (see photos) where the lacquer has lifted at the rear of the car and on the passenger door. This is the only thing a perfectionist might want to sort on the car.
The mileage is just 53, 800 from new. This shape is revered as a modern-classic, and the supercharged convertible is the ultimate. Selling only to downsize my fleet ahead of an imminent house purchase!
