Description

Bentley Turbo S, the Special Edition Motor Car.
One of only 61 built, and one of only 29 RHD cars. According to How Many Left, one of only 4 left on the road. So a bit rare. Rolls Royce and Bentley Driver magazine said in their SZ special that the Turbo S was possibly the ultimate variant of the SZ range.
So we have 409BHP, Zytec engine management system with liquid intercooled turbo, LSD, special forged Conti style alloys, later type bumpers and smaller grille, SWB, special seats and door trims etc.

Turbo S No. 24. In my opinion, the best colour, Peacock Blue.

I've owned this car since 2020, and have had it continuously on the road since I bought it. I have been to the Dordogne in France twice in the last two years, travelled to London, the North-East, Midlands with no problems.
I would not bat an eyelid about going anywhere in it at the drop of a hat. It never uses any oil, and more importantly, not a drop of coolant. It has been 100% reliable, and with these cars, that is a hell of a statement. As you are probably aware, these are cars that NEED to be used; they don't like standing around for any great length of time. This car gets used.
The aircon is freezing cold ( I fitted a new condenser in 2021, and regassed it again as a precaution before the 2024 Dordogne trip).
It has had this year:
Oil and filter (Mobil One 0w40, genuine filter)
Air filter (Genuine)
Rear pads (Genuine)
DIP unit rebuilt by GBE Engineering
New turbo vacuum actuators (Genuine)
Two front tyres
New front windscreen
It's had three oil and filter changes since I've owned it.
Everything works, apart from...
Central locking. The remote operates the alarm, but the central locking doesn't work.
Passenger seat works in every direction but fore and aft.
Electric aerial doesn't go up or down.
That's it.
Bodywork:
There is some rust bubbling around the front of the rear arches, and more rust at the back of the front wings.
The paint on the bonnet has reacted, and ideally needs repainting. Rare. Any SZ is rare, but the Turbo S is extremely rare. This car is in an amazing colour combination of Peacock Blue with light blue Everflex roof, and lovely piped Parchment hides.
As SZ prices slowly creep out of reach of us mere mortals, and with mint Turbo S examples being offered between £40/£50K, my car is still priced within reach. With the ability to just get in and go, this car really is an easy way into the top end of SZ motoring. Lots of service history also back up the reasonable mileage.
