- This car drives very well indeed – quiet, refined, comfortable and powerful. When Rolls-Royce face lifted the Silver Shadow in 1977, it brought back a name from the past to try and boost sales of the more expensive (and thus more profitable) long-wheelbase model.

The Silver Wraith II was essentially a Shadow II with an extra four inches in its wheelbase, and even more luxury. It was recognisable by its smaller and more discreet rear window and standard ‘Everflex’ roof, while it also had the enhancements that came with the Shadow II - a modernised cabin, thicker US-compliant impact bumpers and substantial revisions to the steering, suspension and build quality to make it more satisfying to both own and drive.

Registered in June 1979, this example has had a busy life. It was supplied new by Arnett’s of Bournemouth – a respected Rolls-Royce and Bentley main agent – and has had seven keepers, who between them have racked up over 200, 000 miles. Critically, they have all maintained it impeccably. This is a car that has had thousands spent on it and is still in wonderful condition today. The car is garaged but not left standing, being driven at least once a week. A turn key motor ready to be enjoyed. The current keeper bought the car from the previous keeper in October 2023 and absolutely loves it, but sadly needs to move it on simply because he wants to put the sale proceeds towards another investment.

This is a glorious example of the most luxurious Rolls-Royce model of its day, presented in fabulous overall order. Having been impeccably maintained for its entire life, it wears its miles with pride – it’s an astonishing car for its mileage and is in wonderful overall order. A really lovely example of the Silver Wraith II.
