Here we have a fantastic example of a classic 1979 GS550. It has an extremely low mileage of 2166 (displayed in kilometres at 3487km). It is totally original, including tyres, mirrors, keys etc. It would make a great addition to a collection.
The bike starts and runs very well. It has acquired some corrosion over the years in storage but is otherwise in fantastic condition. As the bike has been off the road for a while if it were to be ridden it would need a general service.
It was recently imported from the USA. Import taxes have been paid and it has a NOVA certificate ready for UK registration if required. (Registration is a simple process and I can advise on this). It was shipped from Iran to San Francisco in 1980/ 81 by my friend’s father. He never registered the bike in the USA and just stored it until 2019 when I bought it from his son/ my friend. I do have some documents from the Iranian vehicle authorities, which I think are from a change of ownership.
