Description
1977 Citroen CX 2400 with later Mk1 Turbo engine and 5 speed manual gearbox. Originally a Spanish built and owned car, bought from VLD Autos in Sweden in 2020 and garaged since. There is little history, but the dealer was told that the car was stored for many years in Spain after the original engine blew and was then rebuilt by its second owner with a Mk1 Turbo petrol engine. The car's bodywork and interior are original and rust free and I had the car rustproofed by SW Rustproofing in Westbury immediately after purchase. Its mileage shows just over 6000 km - which is assumed to be 106, 000, though this cannot be verified.
The car cruises comfortably at motorway speeds and averages into the mid 30s on a run.
Reluctant sale as I'm just not using the car as much as I'd like and other projects are taking up my time. Other than a new battery, the car has needed no work and starts on the button. It was serviced after I bought it and runs very well. It rises and falls on the hydraulics as it should and all electrics work other than a recalcitrant wash-wipe pump.
The car is on steel wheels with hub caps that are a little scruffy, but it comes with a set of 4 unused period correct Citroen alloys included.
