Make MG MODEL M TYPE YEAR 1930 CHASSIS 1154 ENGINE 903A CYLINDROPE 885cc REVOLUTION 4 GEAR GEARS OWNERS 1 SINCE 1992 CERTIFICATIONS ASI APPROVED BROWN INTERIOR BROWN EXTERIOR BROWN/ CREAM NOTES MG prepared 16 MIDGETs to race and win the "Double Twelve Hours of Brooklands" hence the name the model took on "Double Twelve", modifying the bodywork with deeper cuts to the doors, blocking the driver's door and working on cylinder heads, valves, camshafts, racing exhausts with duckbill exit, horizontal instead of vertical carburettor, 4-speed gearbox instead of 3, racing mudguards, etc.
At the request of customers, following the overwhelming victory in the up to 1000 cc class, the factory produced a number of 'REPLICASTS' for privateers. They ran with or without a supercharger.
This car has a correct supercharger but as it does not run in balanced mode it has been disconnected and the car runs in naturally aspirated mode. This kind of car is unobtainable and has nothing to do with the production Midgets. Imported in 1992 from England, it has always belonged to the same owner. It was ASI homologated in 1993 and underwent a conservative restoration some 20 years ago.
The bodywork is of the Weymann type with a wooden frame covered in pegamoid. In Italy it has taken part in numerous events, 'Coppa della Perugina', 'Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti', 'Bologna-Raticosa', 'Coppa dei due Mari', 'Circuito di San Marino' and many others. It is still registered with the original English number plates.
