Presentation This Gillet Vertigo 'Pikes Peak' is a one-off, designed by the Belgian manufacturer after two years' work, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Vertigo model by taking part in the famous Pikes Peak hill climb in 2018. Driven by Vanina Ickx, professional driver and daughter of the legendary Jacky Ickx, the car finished 34th overall and 6th in the Time Attack 1 category. A remarkable performance, which enabled Vanina to break the record for the fastest woman on Pikes Peak in 100 years! After the race, Gillet completely reconditioned the car. Externally, this Vertigo is in excellent condition. The linen fibre bodywork (the only one of its kind in the world at the time) has been fully restored and reinforced. It has also been repainted. The Nomex/ Carbon chassis is in excellent condition. The car has not been damaged in any way. The carbon fibre aerodynamic appendages are in excellent condition.
The interior of the car is also in very good condition. A second seat has been added to give a passenger the experience of a Vertigo racing car. The MoTeC instrument cluster provides full telemetry. The car is equipped with power steering and the mechanicals are in excellent condition. The Cupra-sourced 2. 0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine develops 380bhp and is mated to a Quaife 6-speed sequential gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted paddles. It is managed by a MoTeC ECU and runs normally on 98 Unleaded. The car underwent a complete overhaul at the time of its conversion and is fitted with 4 Speedline SKF Racing centre-hub wheels and new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. AP Racing 6-piston callipers at the front and 4-piston callipers at the rear have also been fitted.
